John is currently the US DOL State Director for Apprenticeship in Arkansas, and was most recently an Apprenticeship & Training Representative in the Dallas Field Office. He was previously a Labor Market Information & Program Analyst, as well as Federal Project Officer for multiple grants, on ETA’s Regional Office (11 states) staff in Dallas, Texas.  He joined the U.S. Department of Labor in late 2014.
Before that, he spent more than five years on the Dallas County Workforce Development Board staff (Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas) as the Employer Services Manager, responsible for the coordination and delivery of employer services and initiatives in Dallas County, including $500,000 annually in layoff response services; $2.1 million annually in Trade Adjustment Assistance occupational training; as well as other grants, special projects, and employer incentives impacting the 67,000+ (at the tme) Dallas County employers & businesses.
Prior to that, John worked at the local center level as Employment Services Supervisor and Employer Account Representative (Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County) in Fort Worth. Earlier in his career, he spent a number of years in the financial services and business development sectors, and also served 10 years active-duty as a Section Commander & Executive Officer (Captain) in the U.S. Air Force. He is also a disabled Gulf War veteran.
John is an Air Force ROTC graduate, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from West Virginia University, and has subsequently earned several Senior Human Resources and Workforce Development certifications/designations.
