Stephanie Johnson-Carlton, a proud native of Pine Bluff, AR, is a dedicated professional with a strong educational background and extensive experience in the field of chemistry. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry in 1994 and later achieving a master’s degree in science secondary education in 2013 from the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff (UAPB), Stephanie has a solid foundation in both academic knowledge and practical expertise. With 16 years of valuable experience at Georgia-Pacific Resins, Inc., chemical division in Crossett, AR, Stephanie honed her skills and developed a deep understanding of the industry before transitioning to a fulfilling career in education. Her passion for teaching led her to join the Pine Bluff School District as a chemistry teacher, where she quickly rose to the position of department chairperson. In this role, she not only provided exceptional instruction in Advanced, Pre-Advanced, and General level Chemistry courses but also demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills. Stephanie's commitment to advancing science education further led her to become a K-12 Science Specialist for the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff Math and Science Pre-College STEM Center, where she played a crucial role in supporting and training K-12 science educators. Presently, as the Science Program Advisor for Arkansas, Stephanie continues to make a significant impact by empowering and guiding K-12 science educators and students across the state, ensuring a brighter future for science education in Arkansas.
