Mr. John Ashworth is the Superintendent and Executive Director of Virtual Arkansas, a State Virtual School (SVS) providing supplemental online course options to Arkansas schools. Mr. Ashworth spent eight years as a secondary science teacher and seven years as a building-level principal for two Arkansas school districts. After implementing an online learning program at his school and seeing the benefits online learning opportunities provided for the students, he decided to join the state virtual program in 2015 as the Director of Academics for Virtual Arkansas. In 2018, Mr. Ashworth was named the Executive Director of Virtual Arkansas.
