The AR App was developed to fulfill the requirement to implement a more efficient planning and application process so that districts have more time to focus on the actions that help students. This session will provide an overview of the AR App's development and how its design will assist districts in identifying a set of priorities in a strategic district plan that support student learning.

This session will focus on findings from research on the early identification and intervention of reading difficulties like dyslexia. The presenters will address the educational and social-emotional implications of early, intensive intervention.

When students have trauma, adversity, chaos, inconsistency, or any number of other things piled on top of that, it is even more difficult for them to regulate their emotions. As a result, we need to be increasingly more skilled in our ability to de-escalate the moment and help our students return to a state of regulation. We're not offering quick fixes. We're offering the opportunity to learn how real change happens. In this one hour preview of our 6 hour workshop, we will focus on the process of escalation and de-escalation. What is important for us to know in the moment? Let’s clarify our goals and put a few tools in our belts.

In this session, participants will learn how to maximize opportunities for students to fulfill the community service graduation requirements. We will explore ways in which schools can partner with organizations, provide ample opportunities for students to volunteer their time during and outside of school hours, and also match the appropriate service to the students level of leadership. Finally, participants will discuss ways to engage students in community service as an authentic, real-world learning experience.

The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny Defend (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004, provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event.

This session will cover the full influence of readiness in reference to LEARNS. Attendees will be presented with the K-12 continuum that will provide experiences for all students to be academically prepared and career ready as an Success Ready Arkansas Graduate.

Creating digital content is important. For starters, digital content is much more likely to be accessible than its paper based equivalent. Digital content can (usually) be enlarged, read aloud with text or screen readers, manipulated, copied, created with speech, and more. However, due to the complexity of math symbols, the plethora of worksheets in circulation, and the requirement for students to “show their work,” it has been difficult, if not impossible to create a digital equivalent. In this session, attendees will learn how to use technology with a feature rich UDL toolbar where users will be given the opportunity create math by way of using prediction, speech to math, a graph editor, and a screenshot reader which will enable users to hear the math aloud allowing users to further enhance their math vocabulary. I will also demonstrate how you scan a document with your mobile phone, and convert the math problems on it to digital & accessible math.
